AirAsia opens Splash Terminals across Thailand and offers Free Flights for the best shared Songkran photograph!

Bangkok--12 Apr--AirAsia AirAsia is spreading Songkran cheer with its Splash Terminals in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Udon Thani, Nakhon Phanom and Hat Yai as well as a Facebook challenge where the wildest and most memorable Songkran photographs can win either a free flight with Thai AirAsia or an adorable AirAsia teddy bear. Thai AirAsia CEO Tassapon Bijleveld remarked that AirAsia, as a low cost airline of the Thai people, is seeking to preserve the Kingdom’s traditions and bolster its joy in 2012 with its “Splash Terminals” to be refreshing people in 5 provinces, namely; Bangkok (Khao Sarn Road), Chiang Mai (Pratu Tapae), Nakhon Phanom (Khao Pun Road), Udon Thani (Nong Prajak) and Hat Yai (Hat Yai City), with an emphasis on maintaining the celebration’s traditional beauty and Thailand’s wholesome image. The highlights of AirAsia’s Splash Terminals will be; in Bangkok (Khao Sarn Road), a champion B-Boy team performance (13-15 April), in Chiang Mai (Pratu Tapae), a concert by pop star Tack Paranyu (12,14 April), in Nakhon Phanom (Khao Pun Road) and Udon Thani (Nong Prajak), tuk-tuks transformed into AirAsia planes and foam parties and in Hat Yai (Hat Yai City), the “AirAsia Loves Hat Yai” event to stimulate the local economy. Participants at any of the terminals will have the chance to receive special collectible AirAsia water-proof pouches. Also, AirAsia’s Facebook (facebook.com/AirAsiaThailand) is holding an activity for fans to compete for a free trip for 2 with AirAsia to any of the airline’s domestic destinations or one of 20 “Captain” AirAsia teddy bears. Contestants simply have to post a photograph of their best Songkran moment to Thai AirAsia’s Facebook page between now and 20 April, 2012. Judges will select and announce winners on 27 April, 2012.
