Shipowner and CEO of the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group, Nils S. Andersen states in connection with the passing of shipowner M?rsk Mc-Kinney Moller.
We are sorry to inform you that we in the A.P. Moller — Maersk Group has received the message that shipowner M?rsk Mc-Kinney Moller has passed away.
The respect for the initiative and the desire to do well was the foundation of the heritage that M?rsk Mc-Kinney M?ller got from his father, shipowner A.P. Moller. With this inspiration and with his own example, M?rsk Mc-Kinney M?ller carried out and fulfilled the founder’s goal.
It was characteristic for M?rsk Mc-Kinney M?ller that he with passion set a good example himself to the employees of the Group. The values inherited from A.P. Moller such as constant care, uprightness, humbleness, our employees and our name were upheld by M?rsk Mc-Kinney M?ller, and Mr. Moller’s business principles were communicated to subsequent generations in all parts of the organization with regard to furthering the company’s reputation and development.
Will and energy marked M?rsk Mc-Kinney M?ller’s endeavours. Vision, careful preparation and a never failing engagement minimised an often time not insignificant business risk. M?rsk Mc-Kinney M?ller was famous for his business talent and his visions and he supported initiatives which changed the company’s direction and influenced society, near and far.
M?rsk Mc-Kinney M?ller made decisions on significant investments which has made the Group’s activities leading in the world within shipping and oil exploration. Employees all over the world have been motivated to make an extra effort by a probably demanding but inspiring boss. To the end, M?rsk Mc-Kinney M?ller showed a vivid interest in the business and our employees as well as being a great inspiration to the Executive Board.
In the whole Group, in Denmark and in offices around the world we commemorate Mr. M?ller for his great contribution to the company and for the many initiatives which have also had an impact on society. Let us respect his memory.
