Mr. Peter Caprez, General Manager of JW Marriott Bangkok, is pleased to announce a new addition to the esteemed culinary team, Mr. Giovanni Alessandro Iurig , the new Executive Pastry Chef, in charge of the Bangkok Baking Company pastry shop and all pastries, cakes , breads and desserts for the hotel.
With over twenty years of international experience, the Italian Executive Pastry Chef Giovanni Alessandro Iurig brings a wealth of knowledge to JW Marriott Bangkok. He specializes in French, Italian and American pastries and desserts, including gorgeous wedding cakes.
“I love to share my favorite desserts with my customers. My Tiramisu is always made from top ingredients, Italian Mascarpone, and its traditional flavor is a love affair. Try dipping one of the ladyfingers into freshly ground Italian Espresso; you will find that simplicity awesome. The Canola must always be made with fresh Italian ricotta filling, with bits of orange and chocolate and a hint of cinnamon to enhance the flavors. Come to Bangkok Baking Company and I’ll show you,” Chef Giovanni invited.
Chef Giovanni first began in the kitchens of Milan, Italy, in 1988, where he graduated from the Culinary school with a degree in Pastry. His first position as Pastry Chef in a hotel started at the Hotel Principe di Savoia & Hotel Palace in the same city and later on he was promoted to Sous Chef. He moved overseas to the US, across to Tokyo, and landed in Dubai in 2005 with his first Executive Pastry Chef position at the Park Hyatt Dubai. He was also selected to be an essential part of the task force for the opening team at Hyatt Regency Kiev, in the Ukraine.
His last position before joining the JW Marriott Bangkok was as Executive Pastry Chef at the Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.
