LG Electronics Thailand Co., Ltd. has announced its success as number one in Thailand’s washing machine market for 11 consecutive years, a testament to its expertise in the development of cutting-edge technology, outstanding product design, and unrivalled product durability. With products that perfectly match the requirements of Thai consumers, LG is very confident it can extend its position as market leader for the 12th consecutive year, with 35 per cent market share by the end of this year. The company also plans to introduce consumers to Thailand’s biggest 20kg. washing machine - which will be available as both a front loader and top loader, targeting the premium market - and the global ‘Smart Appliances’ megatrend in the near future.
Explaining the reasons behind LG’s impressive record as number one for 11 consecutive years in Thailand’s washing machine market, Mr. Thunyachate Ekvetchavit, Marketing Director, LG Electronics Thailand Co., Ltd., commented that “LG is passionate about developing cutting-edge technology, based on our thorough research into the requirements of Thai consumers. We also place great emphasis on product design, which can greatly impact both form and function. Another key part of our mission is to maintain the very highest product quality, so consumers can be confident in the durability of our products, which are backed up by industry-leading warranties - we are proud to be the first brand in the market to provide a 10 year parts warranty on our Direct Drive motor, for example. Each of these reasons contributes to why LG has long been the most popular brand among consumers, endorsed by our recognition by the Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand Awards as Thailand’s most trusted washing machine brand for five consecutive years, and by GFK as Thailand’s number one washing machine brand for 11 consecutive years.”
By conducting in-depth research to reveal consumer insights, LG develops innovative washing machine technology that satisfies the needs of Thai consumers. The smart design of the company’s Inverter Direct Drive technology provides peace of mind through fewer vibrations - which increases product life - less noise, and above all, energy savings of up to 45 per cent. The efficiency of LG’s Stream Washing Machine technology means it can eliminate 99.99% of allergens, while the latest 6 Motion Inverter Direct Drive technology cares for clothes as if they were washed by hand, by using six different wash motions. Another highlight of LG washing machines is their outstanding design elements, with the option of Swarovski crystal embellishment, elevating their status to beyond simply being functional. They are also designed to provide convenience, a clear door — for example — allows users to observe a wash cycle without having to pause it. Above all, LG values its customers, with more than 160 LG Service Centers nationwide and LG Privilege Service to offer support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, meaning spare parts can be provided at a time and place that suits each customer.
Mr. Nipon Wongsaengarunsri, Home Appliances Senior Marketing Manager, LG Electronics Thailand Co., Ltd., added that “Thai consumers value energy saving and healthcare benefits when making their washing machine purchasing decisions. LG recognizes this, so we expanded our 6 Motion Inverter Direct Drive front loader series from six models to 10 models, and top loader series from three models to six models. To offer customers greater choice, LG is preparing to introduce Thailand’s biggest 20kg. Inverter Direct Drive washing machine, which will be available as both a front loader and top loader. LG also plans to reinforce its leadership in the Thai washing machine market by introducing Thai consumers to the global ‘Smart Appliances’ megatrend. Our latest unique feature called Smart Diagnosis helps users to analyze and solve simple problems, while resolving complicated issues by helping customer service representatives quickly troubleshoot mechanical problems over the phone, limiting costly, inconvenient service calls and in-home visits.”
LG is currently number one in Thailand’s washing machine market, with market share of 31 per cent. This year, the company aims to achieve 35 per cent market share, with revenue of around five billion baht. To drive market share and emphasize its product leadership, LG plans to initiate a comprehensive series of sustainable marketing activities, covering advertising, public relations, in-store promotions and road shows. LG will also collaborate with Breeze detergent and Comfort softener to arrange special online activities and co-promotions to emphasise its expertise and leadership in the market.
