Thai Dragon Boat paddlers overcame challengers from the South Eagles Dragon Boat Association and the Mainland China Dragon Boat team to emerge victorious in the 37th Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races, which was jointly organised by the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Association and the Hong Kong Tourism Board. The 2012 edition of the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Carnival featured over 3,000 paddlers from 12 nations and territories in 10 championships that dazzled the crowd at Tsim Sha Tsui East waterfront.
In addition to the Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races, the San Miguel BeerFest was staged as part of the carnival. Held at the UC Centenary Garden in the vicinity of the the dragon boat race course, the BeerFest offered athletes and spectators a sensational experience brimming with cold beer, good food and entertaining live performances. The BeerFest will also be held alongside the 8th International Dragon Boat Federation Club Crew World Championships on July 6-8 (Friday to Sunday).
