Bangkok--18 Jul--AIT A book coauthored by Dr. Siddharth K. Jabade, Director of Innovation and Intellectual Property Rights, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), has been released by CRC Press. Titled "Nanotechnology Intellectual Property Rights: Research, Design, and Commercialization," the book dwells on the evolving patent landscape in Nanotechnology. With three dozen case studies, the book analyses trends in Europe, United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Japan and India. The book also includes a case study from the Asian Institute of Technology on nanotechnology development in antimicrobial paints. It offers an overview of the dynamics of development and commercialization in nanotechnology. The book has been authored along with Dr. Prabuddha Ganguli, honorary scientific consultant on innovation and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) issues to Government of India. According to Dr. Jabade, the attempt is to demystify issues of Intellectual Property Rights associated with research, design, technology transfer and commercialization of innovations in tech-led areas such as nanotechnology. The book foreword has been written by Mr. R. Chidambaram, Principal Scientific Adviser, Government of India who states that the book "will fill the present void of an authoritative reference source in nanotechnology-related IPR."
