LG Electronics (Thailand) Co., Ltd. has expanded its ‘LG Life’s Green Life’s Good’ campaign, to mark the company’s 2012 Global Volunteer Day. This year, the executive team led 60 staff to participate in green activities; ranging from beach planting and mangrove reforestation, returning crabs to the sea, to preserving and rejuvenating the Pranburi ecosystem, in support of the Royal Pranburi delta preservation project. In addition, LG also donated bicycles for use by Pranburi Forest Park officials. The activity was arranged to highlight LG’s commitment to contributing to a sustainable future.
Now in its third consecutive year, the ‘LG Life’s Green Life’s Good’ campaign includes a range of activities with a focus on LG’s annual Global Volunteer Day, demonstrating LG’s commitment to contributing to a sustainable society. In addition to CSR initiatives, LG’s ‘Green 2020’ master plan for green growth and sustainable management sets the company’s goal of 200 million tons of cumulative reductions in greenhouse gas emissions from 2009 through 2020. LG plans to achieve this not only through improved manufacturing processes and effective transportation, but also through better logistics and energy-efficient products that bring significant reductions in CO2 at the end-use stage.
