Upon the completion, it is expected that the event will generate Bt3,300 million on-site presales and urge the market in the second half year.
Dr. Patchara Tantayanyong, President of Home Builder Association, discloses today that the Association is staging its 9th “Home Builder 2012” during this coming August 23-26, 2012 at the Plenary Hall, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC). The event, which will play host to over 40 leading home builders, will present new modern home designs along with many other special promotions. In addition to home builders, a list of prestigious exhibitors will also include manufacturers and distributors of home decorative items, leading financial institutions and real estate media.
Different from previous event, Home Builder 2012 will focus on academic and engineering excellence. To serve this purpose, Home Builder Association has partnered with 2 key organizations. First, Department of Innovation in Real Estate Development, Faculty of Architecture and Planning, Thammasat University to present the trend of construction and the fresh home designs to broader theviewpoint and let the visitor thinks outside the box. Another is Iron and Steel Institute of Thailand to attract and educate people by showing the innovation of iron and steel construction, the innovative home design and construction for the future, and etc.
Besides main exhibits, other interesting on-site activities will also include Home Builder Research Center, a consumer research conducted by the Association’s Academic Affair Department; Architect & Engineer Consulting Counter; New Home Design Book Corner, the most recent and comprehensive housing catalogue sold at a special price. Moreover, there will also be an exposition on the most recent steel-structured home designs and “Thailand Steel House Contest 2012” organized by Iron and Steel Institute of Thailand, as well as an exposition and an exclusive seminar on “Across The Line” concept by the Department of Innovation in Real Estate Development, Faculty of Architecture & Planning, Thammasat University in the Center Area.
In addition to the generous discounts from all exhibitors, the Association has also prepared a prized promotion, where those placing orders on-site will stand a chance to win a Suzuki Swift (2 prizes), or a Yamaha Fino (3 prizes), or an iPad 2 (10 prizes). Moreover, those pre-registering through www.hba-th.org will stand another chance to win an additional discount of 10,000 Baht, when placing an on-site order with any exhibitor.
Dr. Patchara said in this 2012 edition, the Association has estimate the on-site presales at Bt3,300 million, implying 15% from Bt2,900mn presales in 2011, and is confident to achieve the target, as most consumers are well aware that residential prices are poised to increase in no time, after minimum wage and building material prices are set to rise, while the purchasing power lost during the floods has recovered. It is expected that most home builders will gradually revise their price list up by 5%-10% after the event. Hence, Home Builder 2012 will be consumers’ golden opportunity to secure their homes at economical prices, while enjoying its many special promotions. It is further expected that the number of visitors will rise by 15%-20% Y-Y to 50,000 — 70,000 in 2012 as consumers will rush to make their decisions prior to price hike. As usual, Home Builder 2012 will be co-locating with Home Buyer Expo 2012, a leading consumer show for detached houses, townhouses and condominiums, and NPA Grand Sale 2012 organized by Housing Finance Association, and Home Loan 2012, a consumer finance show — all of which are expected to draw a good number of well-informed visitors to the venue.
“The Association aims, through the staging of Home Builder 2012, to make a paradigm shift on how an average consumer perceives about home building so that they go “across the line” and think out-of-the-box. Hence, the event will offer both academic and practical knowledge about the various construction and architectural methodologies which have come so far from the conventional knowledge that an average consumer has. In the past, consumers may stick to the idea that a house must constructed by reinforced concrete, while we could actually think different about this today and use steel structure instead. Besides new construction innovations, the event will also present new alternatives to typical building materials, which will enrich the consumers’ knowledge about what materials they could choose from.” Dr. Patchara concluded.
