Thai bourse grants awards to youth in music competition

Bangkok--20 Aug--SET The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and the College of Music, Mahidol University, have granted awards to winners of “The 15th Settrade Youth Music Competition” to encourage and promote music talent among youth. The four gold medalists are: Yanisa Wannawatra, for playing Thai-traditional alto xylophone at the primary school level; Prem Srisombat, for playing alto saxophone at the junior high school level; Shinnawatra Temkumkwan, for playing the guitar at the high school level, and Sasinee Aswajesdakul, for singing at the undergraduate level. SET and Mahidol have supported this music competition for seven consecutive years. This is one of SET’s social activities to continuously enhance religion, art and culture, apart from emphasizing promoting saving habits and personal finance management in youth. SET is pleased to encourage youth to develop their music talents through this competition. All contestants and their coaches put great effort into this competition and have be rewarded by the sustained and significant development of their music talents. SET believes all youth would take this experience to develop their expertise to reach international levels and bring pride to Thailand. The total prizes in this competition were worth more than THB 1 million, with gold medalists receiving certificates and music scholarships at the college.
