At the LINE Thailand Developer Conference 2025, LINE outlined a clear strategic ambition to elevate the way Thai developers work today and into the future. This transformation is driven by LINE's Open Platform strategy, built upon four foundational pillars: People - Fostering the growth of the developer community while strengthening knowledge partnerships to upskill Thai developers; Technology - Expanding and stabilizing the ecosystem to support scalable, long-term development; Process - Simplifying development workflows through practical tools and streamlined frameworks; Product - Delivering innovation through key offerings such as the LINE MINI App, Bot Marketplace, and seamless in-app payment tools.
LINE positions AI not merely as a tool but as a 'Career Accelerator'a catalyst for transforming how developers work. By integrating AI into development, ideas can be turned into products faster, with higher quality, and greater positive impact for end users.
A key highlight of this year's conference is LINE's strong focus on enhancing Thai developers' programming capabilities through the introduction of new technologies and tools. These innovations are designed to make the development of services and digital solutions faster, easier, and more cost-efficient. Highlights include the latest updates to the LINE APIaimed at reducing development complexity, the introduction of the LINE MINI Appan all-in-one solution that allows developers to build scalable services directly within the LINE platform, and the seamless integration of AI to accelerate workflows and enhance operational efficiency in a tangible and impactful way.
Enhanced LINE API Features for Faster, Smarter Development
This year, LINE introduced a suite of new API features specifically designed to streamline development and simplify AI integration for Thai developers. Among the highlights is the LINE Bot MCP Server, a tool that enables AI Agents to connect directly with the Messaging API using simple promptsallowing developers to create Flex Messages or broadcast content effortlessly.
Other notable additions include the Coupon API, which allows businesses to issue digital coupons via LINE to drive repeat purchases; the Simulate LIFF Switching function, which enables seamless toggling between multiple LIFF apps; and significant upgrades to LIFF CLI, making the development process more intuitive and efficient.
Another major highlight is the LINE MINI App, an App-in-App solution that allows brands to build and deploy services within the LINE ecosystemwithout requiring users to download separate applications. Leading brands such as FINNOMENA, TQM, MedCare, and Dusit Central Park have already adopted this solution. At the conference, several demos showcased how AI can be seamlessly integrated into LINE MINI App development to reduce time-to-market and significantly enhance service performance.
Transforming App Development: The Power of LINE MINI App + AI
Thai developers are embracing the powerful synergy of AI and LINE MINI App to build smarter, more efficient services. A leading example is TicketO, an all-in-one event management solution built on LINE MINI App. The platform integrates AI throughout the attendee journeyvalidating content and formats pre-event using Input/Output Guardrails, confirming tickets via Service Messages, and enabling seamless check-in through QR codes or LINE Beacon. Organizers can engage participants with quiz, lucky draws, or booth missions via LINE MINI App, and leverage AI to analyze post-event feedback for continuous improvement.
In the retail sector, AIYAa provider of Location AI Marketing solutionsshowcased how LINE Beacon and LINE MINI App can transform hyperlocal engagement while AI analyzes info from LINE Beacon, CRM data, and user behavior to trigger personalized offers like flash sales or couponsdelivered at the right place, right time, to the right customer. This O2O (online-to-offline) model enables measurable, real-time conversion from ad views to in-store action.
To further streamline development, LINE HACK 2023 finalist Thanarat Ruangrat introduced MINI AI Studioa low-code tool that lets developers build LINE MINI Apps through simple prompts. AI acts as a multi-agent system to handle logic, LIFF UI generation, validation, and deployment to test and production environments. Developers simply define specs, data sources, and clear promptsAI does the rest.
Supercharging Business Use Cases with Group Bots and MCP Server
Zwiz.AI showcased how AI-powered Group Botslike the internal HR bot "N'Zee"are transforming organizational operations. From automating leave requests and Wi-Fi password queries to generating sales reports, these bots are now capable of handling increasingly complex tasks thanks to LLM integration.
To help AI bridge one of its key limitationssecure access to business-specific dataLINE showcased the application of Model Context Protocol (MCP), often referred to as the "USB-C for AI." MCP enables AI to interact seamlessly with proprietary systems such as inventory databases, order management platforms, and sales records. Through the LINE Bot MCP Server, developers can now connect AI Agents like Claude or Gemini directly to LINE OA, enabling automated actions such as checking message quotas, sending broadcasts, updating rich menus, or even managing campaignswithout the need for manual intervention.
Best Practices: Using AI to Enhance Development Efficiency
AI has evolved from a supporting feature into a true co-developer, empowering teams to work faster, more efficiently, and with greater precision. In today's LLM era, effective AI prompting requires mastery of Context Engineeringwhich includes: System Prompt - Clearly defining the AI's role using onboarding guides like copilot-instructions.md; Available Tools - Providing the AI with tools such as Gohan CLI, LINE Thailand's internal utility for rapid microservice development on LINE OA Plus; User Prompt - Structuring task-specific commands with detailed requirements. This approach allows AI to function as a 24/7 teammate, accelerating development and reducing complexity.
Internally, LINE Thailand's developers also built Scouter, a Chrome extension powered by GitHub Copilot's NES (Next Edit Suggestion). Created in under a day, Scouter streamlines performance monitoring on LIFF apps that featured on LINE OA Plus by generating concise, exportable reportssaving time and boosting team productivity.
For SRE-focused development, LINE has adopted GitOps practices to manage technical debt and ensure reliability. Configurations are stored in Git with versioning by week/year. YAML files are auto-validated through CI pipelines, while internally developed tools like ArgoCD, a heavy-duty GitOps Agent for automate system testing. To manage YAML complexity, teams use YAML Language Server and Syntax Highlight on VS Code/NeoVim to find any error coding and use AI to assist code suggestions, ensuring safer, cleaner, and more consistent deployment processes.
