depa organized the Selection Day event for the ODOS Summer Camp (Class of 2026), featuring course and country lottery selection and interview sessions. This initiative advances depa's human capital development strategy by providing Thai youth nationwide with international digital education opportunities, preparing them to become vital drivers of the digital economy and society.
Assistant Professor Dr. Nuttapon Nimmanphatcharin, President and CEO of the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), together with Dr. Warin Ratchananusorn, Acting Senior Executive Vice President of depa in his capacity as Director of the ODOS Summer Camp Program, presided over the ODOS Summer Camp Selection Day #Classof2026, featuring the course/country lottery selection and interview sessions for the ODOS Summer Camp (Class of 2026). The event was attended by youth representatives from districts and zones across the nation, as well as executives and representatives from embassies and various relevant government and private sector organizations, at Paragon Hall, 5th Floor, Siam Paragon.

Assistant Professor Dr. Nuttapon stated that depa, as a government agency playing a pivotal role in promoting the development of the nation's digital workforce and personnel, has implemented the ODOS Summer Camp Program with the aim of expanding educational opportunities at leading educational institutions and facilitating digital skills acquisition from global technology companies for talented Thai youth from all 878 districts nationwide and 50 zones in Bangkok, totaling 928 scholarships.
Assistant Professor Dr. Nuttapon continued that currently, various countries, including Thailand, are advancing Big Data operations in conjunction with Cloud Computing, both of which require us to adapt to a world changing in terms of geopolitics and moving towards borderless lifestyles, work practices, business operations, and cross-border trade. All of this is driven by Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. In the future, if Thailand can elevate itself to keep pace with these changes, it will generate added value in the economic and production system, or Real Sector. Therefore, ODOS Summer Camp is not merely a scholarship program, but rather an investment in 'human capital' and will serve as the starting point for transformation toward future development.
"Advancing to today's final selection round is a testament to the abilities of these young participants themselves, with no interference in the process whatsoever. I would like to congratulate all participants and offer my encouragement for success in today's lottery and interview activities. Today's event will represent a significant milestone in creating new opportunities within the Thai education system, providing life experiences and sparking new ideas regarding education and future careers for these young people. The participants who join this program will serve as key agents who will return to share the knowledge and experiences gained from studying at leading universities and living abroad, including insights about technological evolution from global technology companies, with their peers and the general public. Furthermore, the ODOS Summer Camp Program contributes to increasing the digital workforce across various industrial sectors of the country, while preparing Thai youth to become quality digital citizens who will serve as crucial mechanisms for national development," the depa President and CEO stated.
Dr. Warin noted that previous iterations of the ODOS Summer Camp Program enabled 928 students aged 19 and under from 878 districts nationwide and 50 Bangkok zones, serving as district/zone representatives, to experience academic life at leading universities in the United States, United Kingdom, Finland, Estonia, Australia, China, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore across 16 courses. Participants enhanced their digital competencies through exposure to global technology companies and subsequently inspired Thai youth across all regions.
"The success of previous program iterations has generated substantial interest in the ODOS Summer Camp (Class of 2026), with applicants doubling compared to the previous cohort. Class of 2026 has secured partnerships to expand opportunities for Thai youth, offering experiences at leading universities in 9 countries: the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Finland, Australia, China, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, while providing exposure to global technological innovation and ecosystems. Furthermore, the curriculum has been optimized by increasing the course offerings from 16 to 19 courses in this iteration, aimed at elevating digital skills and inspiring future academic pursuits or career paths," the ODOS Summer Camp Program Director stated.
