The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), together with government and private sector units, has announced the four winners of The Diamond Crown in Economic: Nern Tong Kong-Mee Ka and Sufficiency Economic Philisophy contest, with Teerachet Chaomeepurm from Horwong School receiving the HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Cup.
The annual contest, organized for the fourth consecutive year on August 25-26, aims to lay a strong foundation of economics, personal finance, insurance, and the sufficiency economy philosophy among youth as one of the SET’s social activities to enhance education and learning for young generation. For this year, youth was provided by insights of the upcoming ASEAN Economic Community through exhibitions and seminars.
This year’s competition attracted 4,039 candidates from 947 schools nationwide, rising 73 percent from last year. The four gold medalists were: for the junior primary school, Wuthisan Prachpayont from Udomwitthaya, Rathburi; for senior primary school Thanakrit Maneesavasti from Kornpitaksuksa, Bangkok; junior high school level, Nattanan Warintarawet from Benjamarachutit, Nakornrathsrima, and high school level, Teerachet Chaomeepurm from Horwang.
Each winners was awarded a gold medal worth THB 25,000 and scholarship worth THB 10,000 with certification and other instruction media offered by SET. The winner in the high school level also received the HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Cup and total prizes worth about THB one million.
The competition was also sponsored by The Capital Market Development Fund Foundation, CPF Trading Co., Ltd., The Crown Property Bureau, National Office of Buddhism, Nongpho Dairy Co-operative Ltd., Office of the Basic Education Commission, Romchatra Foundation, Satree Wittaya School II, and The Treasury Department, and Thai Life Assurance Association.
