Hatari, the leading fan manufacturer in Thailand, presents the immersive exhibition "Love Is in the Air" at Bangkok Design Week 2026. The exhibition examines how design balances function and emotional impact, using the "FAN" as a symbol of a constant companion in daily life. The exhibition unfolds across four key sections: First Love, Love at First Sight, Passionate Love, and True Love. Each section immerses visitors in interactive installations where love is felt through the wind - its gentle whispers, sudden gusts, and wild swirls echoing the shifting feelings of love. Visit us as part of Bangkok Design Week 2026, and experience the interplay between design and emotion from January 29 to February 8, 2026, at The Corner House Bangkok (Chai Phatthanasilp).
The exhibition "Love Is in the Air" asks how everyday objects can combine practical use with emotional and aesthetic value. The concept comes from a Thai pun, as "Faen (Lover)" is pronounced the same as "Fan" (electric fan) in English. Through this linguistic and cultural connection, the exhibition reimagines the fan as more than a household appliance. It becomes a "FAN" that remains by our side throughout every stage of life. This concept embodies Hatari's design philosophy, which sees design as more than just functionit is an emotional presence that accompanies and responds to our feelings. To manifest the philosophy, Hatari partnered with Habits Design Studio, a multidisciplinary design studio from Italy that recognizes integration, design, functionality, and nature.
Within the exhibition, visitors will journey through four immersive spaces, each offering a distinct experiential interpretation of different moments of love. These experiences are expressed through a carefully orchestrated combination of wind, light, color, sound, scent, and movement:
Visitors can pause here for a brief writing activity, leaving messages for themselves or loved ones to capture positive emotions and reinforce self-love and confidence in daily life.
Toward the end of the exhibition, Hatari also presents its vision of sustainability through the idea of recycling electric fans and transforming used materials, giving them a second life and purpose. This reconciles with Hatari's design approach that supports both emotional well-being and product longevity for a more sustainable future.
Ms. Tassaluck Panichtrakul, Research and Development Assistant Managing Director of Hatari Electric Co., Ltd., shared, "Each year Hatari hosts an exhibition with a new theme but the same core message: design should consider users' emotions, not just function or performance. This year's 'Love Is in the Air' exhibition highlights the fan as more than an applianceit's an object that connects emotionally with users. This approach supports Hatari's goal to be a brand present in every moment and lifestyle."
In 2026, Hatari will participate in Bangkok Design Week for the third year in a row, continuing its support of Thailand's design community by fostering innovation and creativity. The event is now a major cultural occasion, especially popular with younger generations. Ms. Peevara Choonhawongse, Head of Brand & Marketing of Hatari Electric Co., Ltd., added, "Over the past several decades, Hatari has grown as a trusted home appliance brand. Today, we are redefining our position and enhancing our customer engagement strategies to better align with evolving lifestyles, emotions, and the changing social context.
The exhibition "Love Is in the Air" reflects Hatari's current directionone that views design not only through the lens of functional performance, but also places importance on the experiences, emotions, and meanings that everyday objects hold for people at different stages of life. Our participation in Bangkok Design Week is part of a broader strategy to connect the brand with contemporary culture and modern lifestyles. As Hatari enters its 35th year, we are committed to ensuring our designs continue to enrich daily life and remain relevant to every generationbecause true brand growth means creating lasting emotional connections."
