Mr.AdithepVanabriksha, Chief Investment Officer (CIO) Aberdeen Asset Management Company Limited, Thailand, said “European economic news continued to disappoint. The Continent’s services and manufacturingsectors shrankfurther despite the European Central Bank’s (ECB) pledge to support the euro. For Asia Pacific Region, most Asian stockmarkets rose last month but second-quarter growth continued to moderate across most of the region.Meanwhile, Thai economy remains resilient and our Thai holdings continued to report generally solid second quarter results. Prices of Thai bonds fell on the back of improving risk sentiment in the global market appeared to be taking a firmer hold on the back of a few good data release such as US jobs report and retail sales. We may yet see declining prices in UST in the coming week, which may lead to weaker Thai bonds. But we view this as a buying opportunity for those waiting to increase exposure ahead of the MPC meeting in early September.”
The dividend payment is the result of the positive environment both equities and fixed income market plus our Aberdeen’s bottom-up investment approach to identify quality companies for long term investment. For more information please contact Client Services at Tel. 0-2352-3333
