As the cool winter season arrives in Northern Thailand, Kahavadi Chiang Rai, Curio Collection by Hilton has announced its 2026 winter festive programme, running from 24 November 2026 to 3 January 2027. The season is framed by two celebrations set directly on the banks of Mae Kok River - a Loy Krathong evening in November and a New Year's Eve countdown in December, with a curated series of festive dining experiences unfolding between them across its three signature dining venues: Larderley, Tasabiang, and The Ledger.
A Night Along the River - 24 November 2026
The season opens with "A Night Along the River," a Lanna-inspired Loy Krathong celebration set on the banks of the Mae Kok River, where guests will experience festive dining, local flavours, and an authentic Loy Krathong expression of Northern Thai tradition, an intimate evening for couples and a memorable celebration for families. The celebration is available as part of a festive stay package, or as a standalone dining experience, including Larderley, Tasabiang and The Ledger.
Tales of the Festive Season
As the winter season continues, Kahavadi Chiang Rai presents "Tales of the Festive Season" across Christmas and New Year under the theme "Celebrate. Gather. Make it memorable." Invites families, friends and loved ones to come together and make time for one another through a series of festive dining experiences created for each meaningful moment of the season.
With the river as a distinctive backdrop, each experience brings together thoughtfully curated flavours and seasonal decor, with details designed to make dining more than a meal, but part of a story to be remembered and carried home as a lasting memory of the winter season.
24 December - Christmas Eve | Festive Dinner
Celebrate Christmas Eve at Larderly and Tasabiang with an elegant festive dinner featuring seasonal flavours and locally inspired ingredients in a warm and refined setting, with each dish thoughtfully presented to set the tone for a memorable evening of seasonal celebration.
25 December - Christmas Day | Family Christmas
A family Christmas celebration in the river-view dining room, set within a warm and open setting overlooking the river at Larderley and Tasabiang, where generations can come together around the same table, share stories from the past and listen to one another, as well as a Pinto Painting workshop. The experience brings together a selection of festive dishes thoughtfully created for the occasion, adding to the joy of spending meaningful time together as a family.
31 December - New Year's Eve | Countdown by the river
The season closes as it began - on the river. Welcome 2027 beside the Mae Kok River with an evening of dining and celebration, gathering at the hotel's riverside restaurant for New Year's Eve countdown, immersed in the enchanting melodies of live music complemented by memorable riverside fireworks. As the final chapter of the year comes to a close, guests are invited to turn the page together and welcome a new chapter, creating memories to carry into the year ahead.
1 January - New Year's Day | New Year's Brunch
Welcome the new year with a relaxed and indulgent brunch at Larderley. Gather with family and friends and enjoy a festive selection of traditional brunch favourites, including freshly baked pastries, eggs Benedict, fluffy pancakes, seasonal salads, cold cuts and cheeses, roasted meats, and a selection of sweet treats and desserts.
