Kamalaya's commitment to responsible travel was recognised at the Azure Road Impact Awards in the Wellness Resort category, while the Luxuri Awards named it Best Integrative Wellness Sanctuary in Koh Samui. These latest achievements build on an impressive history of international recognition, including Best Hotel Spa in Thailand at the Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific 2025 and inclusion among the Top 20 Best Wellness Experiences in National Geographic's Best of the World 2024 list.
Founded in 2005, Kamalaya has established a distinctive place in the global wellness landscape by combining traditional Eastern healing philosophies with contemporary practices and personalised guidance. Its approach considers physical health alongside emotional and spiritual wellbeing, recognising the connections between these different aspects of a person's life.
Over the past two decades, the sanctuary has continued to deepen and expand its holistic wellness offering, guided by its longstanding philosophy of nurturing mind, body and spirit. Longstanding specialities such as detoxification, stress management and emotional balance have been complemented by programmes addressing sleep, healthy ageing, hormonal health and cognitive wellbeing.
Among its more recent developments is Sacred Renewal. Rooted in ancient wisdom and guided by the lunar cycle, the program reflects Kamalaya's continued emphasis on the relationship between physical wellbeing, emotional health and spiritual growth.
"As we celebrate 21 years of Kamalaya, we reflect with deep gratitude on the remarkable journey that has brought us to this milestone. Over the years, we have had the privilege of welcoming over 33,000 international guests, offering a nurturing environment where healing, self-discovery and meaningful transformation can unfold. At the heart of Kamalaya is our exceptional team, whose genuine care, compassion and dedication bring our philosophy to life every day. It is this shared commitment, together with the continued trust of our cherished guests, that makes Kamalaya the sanctuary it is today," says Gopal Kumar, General Manager and Group Director of Wellness Development at Kamalaya
The more than 100 international accolades received since Kamalaya's opening in 2005 are a reflection of its enduring dedication to holistic wellbeing and the personal approach that continues to define the guest experience.
"Each of these accolades is a meaningful recognition of the vision, dedication and genuine care that have shaped Kamalaya over the past 21 years and continue to guide us today. They reaffirm our commitment to creating a nurturing environment where holistic healing and personal transformation can flourish, while inspiring us to carry this philosophy forward with the same passion and sense of purpose," says Gopal Kumar.
