Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) now offers real-time online deposit account opening through SCB Easy Net, the bank's Internet banking channel. From 29 September, SCB Easy Net users can conveniently open savings, fixed deposit, or long-term deposit accounts with just a few clicks at www.scbeasy.com.
SCB First Executive Vice President and Head of the Customer Segment Division Rungruang Sukkirdkijpiboon said that the move is in line with the Bank's “Customer First” retail banking strategies. With the new online account opening service, SCB Easy Net users can open a deposit account ready for transactions without visiting an SCB branch. Customers can rest assured with high security standards and optional services such as SMS alerts for withdrawals from their deposit accounts. SCB plans to offer the online account opening service on smart phone applications in the near future as well.
SCB has seen constant growth of 20% annually in its SCB Easy Net customer base, and there are currently over 1.5 million SCB Easy Net users. Online banking is growing rapidly and is increasingly popular, so the bank seeks to provide a complete range of online financial solutions to meet customer needs, including deposits, bill payment, credit cards, and mutual fund trading through a single sign-on connection to their SCB Securities (SCBS) account.
