DSM Nutritional Products, led by Dr. Manfred Eggerdorfer (2nd from left), Senior Vice President, Nutrition Science & Advocacy, recently hosted a media briefing on vitamin D deficiency at the Shangri-la Hotel Bangkok. Entitled ‘Vitamin D . . . A Global Health Issue’, the briefing was designed to educate the general public on vitamin D deficiency in the world population. Maps developed by the International Osteoporosis Foundation in collaboration with DSM were used to explain and illustrate the problem. Also joining the briefing was the Vice President of the Thai Osteoporosis Foundation, Associate Professor Dr. Pongsak Yuthanadara (3rd from left).
Dr. Pongsak spoke on vitamin D deficiency in the Thai population, especially in women and seniors, who are considered high-risk groups.
