I-Color is a stylish colorful shower head with 6 different colors and 3 functions; Spray, Massage, and Mixing Spray and Massage, which enhance comfort and relaxation. Its portable size with convenient handle makes it easy to use. Moreover, the nozzle has an efficient water control system; it can work well even in low water pressure condition and has water saving feature in case of high water pressure. Ms. Supathra Kuratana, American Standard’s Marketing Director, reveals the current trend of D.I.Y. customers’ behaviors “ We have conducted the survey on D.I.Y. market and found that in the past 5 years, 60 % of the customers buy D.I.Y. products to renovate their houses while another 40 % purchase the products for new bathroom building. The amount of purchases for renovation purpose has soared after the massive flood last year. Moreover, the shortage of skilled plumbers has also led to the increase in D.I.Y. purchases. The establishment of ‘D.I.Y. section’ in numbers of home decor stores indicates the rising trend of D.I.Y as well. Consumers tend to buy do-it-yourself products with reasonable prices. The interesting finding is that they spend less time on shopping at the stores. This reflects the lifestyle of new generation people living in the big cities, which convenience and quickness are their first priorities. As a result, the demand for D.I.Y. products has been increasing rapidly. In the year 2012, the growth rate of American Standard’s D.I.Y. goods has increased 50% from 2011.”
“ In sum, there are many factors, which lead to the success of D.I.Y. products: products variety with diverse functions and design; quality; outstanding packaging and competitive prices. Price is the main factor, which affects consumers’ buying decision followed by product design, brand and functions.”
