SET President Charamporn Jotikasthira said YFS 2012 aims to boost opportunities for Thai youth and increase their capability in financial planning and investment to be ready for financial innovations which are developing rapidly, to build their financial expertise and cultivate their concept of social responsibility. More than 50 percent of last year’s candidates who passed the second round of the competition went on to earn Investment Consultant licenses and work in financial areas and the capital market. For this year, we have successfully registered a record high of 5,688 candidates and have selected 347 students from 47 universities nationwide to enter the second round. These candidates will take training courses that will boost their financial literacy and expertise in investment and insurance. The candidates will then take the Securities Investment Consultant examination, as consulting is a key profession for entering into the capital market. Those who pass further and become one of the 50 finalists will receive training in insights of financial planning, investment, personnel development, presentation skills, and social responsibility concepts during October 2012 and January 2013,” Charamporn added.
In addition to the four alliance partners mentioned above, YFS 2012 is supported by Association of Securities Companies, Thai Financial Planner Association, Thailand Securities Institute, and The Capital Market Development Fund Foundation.
