Today’s announcements advance HP Converged Storage:
? HP Get Virtual Guarantee Program to improve server virtualization return on investment in VMware environments
? All solid state drive (SSD) configuration for the HP 3PAR P10000 to improve application performance while reducing operational costs and IT complexity
Industry-first HP 3PAR program doubles physical server virtual machine performanceThe HP Get Virtual Guarantee Program promises qualified participants a minimum two times increase(1) in virtual server density by doubling the total virtual machine workload on existing physical servers. This program can reduce the costs of a customer’s rapidly growing VMware virtualization environment.
HP boosts application performance with solid-state technologyThe new all-SSD configuration for HP 3PAR P10000 Storage eliminates issues related to the number of SSDs per array and the need to move data manually between storage tiers to optimize service levels with a single tier of solid state storage while delivering the same industry-leading(2) performance as the existing HP 3PAR P10000. By supporting up to 512 SSDs per array, the all-SSD HP 3PAR system reduces equipment costs, data-center footprint and energy expenses. Client cost per input/output operations per second is reduced by 70 percent, and cost per kilowatt hour is cut by more than 80 percent, making all-SSD HP 3PAR P10000 Storage ideal for performance-driven applications.(3)
(1) Clients deploying HP 3PAR systems with VMware vSphere, version 4.1 or later are guaranteed a 2x increase in virtual machine density on physical servers in comparison to their VM density with previously installed storage.
(2) Based on the Storage Performance Council’s SPC-1 benchmark results, available at www.storageperformance.org/results/benchmark_results_spc1/#a00109.
(3) Based on HP internal comparison of an HP 3PAR P10000 V800 with all Fibre Channel and an equivalently sized HP 3PAR P10000 V800 with all SSD drives.
