Mazda to unveil new design concept via SHINARI sports concept at Motor Expo
- Mazda booth at Motor Expo to be packed with special models
- Large number of promotions & applicable models of Bt100,000 First Car Buyer incentive
The upcoming Thailand International Motor Expo is the last chance for Mazda enthusiasts in finding a high-performance, Zoom-Zoom vehicle that comes with irresistible sales campaigns including the First Car Buyer government promotion. Apart from highly attractive sales promotions, Mazda will also be exhibiting the concept car that is filled with new design concept — the SHINARI. The SHINARI is the first Mazda concept that features the new design theme “KODO — Soul of Motion” that will later be incorporated into all the new generation models.
Mr. Choichi Yuki, Managing Director of Mazda Sales (Thailand) Co. Ltd., said this will be the first time that the SHINARI will be exhibited in Thailand. It was firstly shown to the media at the Design Forum in Milan in 2010 and made its first public debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show the same year. “The SHINARI gained widespread admiration due to its modern and outstanding design, and this is another activity from Mazda to allow Thai customers experience the design of the future,”
The global Mazda design teams dedicated huge amount of hours in creating the SHINARI, which is influenced by the graceful movements of wild animals like a swift movement of the cheetah while pouncing on a prey, and the fast and powerful movements of a kendo fighter. “This is the essence of ‘KODO Design - Soul of Motion’ and the design concept of the SHINARI will be transferred to all of new generation models from Mazda in the near future,” Mr. Yuki said.
“This year sales of Mazda in Thailand have grown significantly, exceeding last year’s figure of 42,000 units by over 70 percent. This is because of good quality of the car and the true identity of the Mazda brand which customers admire. In 2012, we plan to sell the total over 70,000 units in Thailand, which is considered as another great success for the company,” he added.
This year, the Mazda booth boasts a complete collection of models, both regular and special. To be presented for the first time at the Motor Expo is the Mazda3 1.6 S+ which comes with special equipements including side skirts, newly-designed rear spoiler, Sports Black roof, 17-inch alloy wheels, sporty black leather seats, door panels, center console armrest and steering wheel with red stitching, as well as special Gun Metallic alloy wheel. There are 3 colors — Arctic White, True Red and Highlight Silver — a limited production of only 1,000 units, and start to deliver next January.
In addition, Mazda will also bring all its sporty vehicles. From the First Car Buyer group, Mazda 2 Sport 5-door hatchback, Elegance 4-door Sedan and Mazda2 Racing Series will be displayed. All qualify for the First Car Buyer scheme offering a full Bt100,000 tax incentive. There is also the BT-50 PRO sports pickup that also qualifies for the tax rebate depending on the model. The world’s best selling sports car, the MX-5, comes with a new look thanks to a global minor change, while the CX-9 luxury crossover is also exhibited for Mazda customers.
In addition, Marketing Director Sureetip La-Ongthong Chomthongdee has confirmed that apart from benefiting from the Bt100,000 tax incentive, Mazda customers will also enjoy special promotions especially for this event.
