November sales reach 23,036 units, achieving the highest sales in the passenger car segment for two consecutive months
Brio Amaze, the latest eco-sedan, creates an amazing phenomenon with orders for more than 10,000 units within just three weeks of its market debut
Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd. announced passenger car sales for November 2012, of 23,036 units (including the Honda CR-V, which pays the passenger car tax rate), achieving the No. 1 position in Thailand’s passenger car market segment for the second consecutive month. Honda’s accumulated sales from January through November 2012 reached 150,745 units, the highest-ever sales record in the company’s history, even with the company’s manufacturing plant in Ayutthaya resuming full production only eight months ago.
Honda’s continuous sales growth during the year can be attributed to the launch of 10 new models over the past eight months. The latest model, the Honda Brio Amaze, was launched in Thailand on November 23, 2012. The new eco-sedan has received excellent customer acceptance nationwide, thanks to its sleek and outstanding exterior styling, along with a spacious and comfortable interior and a comprehensive range of safety features. A 1.2 liter, 4-cylinder, 16-valve, 90-horsepower SOHC i-VTEC engine makes the new Brio Amaze fun to drive while offering outstanding fuel economy, with fuel consumption of 20 kilometers per liter. The all-new Honda Brio Amaze was a genuine phenomenon at the recent 29th Motor Expo, attracting a tremendous number of visitors to the Honda booth and generating nationwide orders for more than 10,000 units within three weeks of it being launched.
According to Mr. Pitak Pruittisarikorn, Executive Vice President, Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd., “Our return to strength is due the tremendous effort Honda put into the launch of many new car models into the Thai market over the past eight months to satisfy the full range of customer demands and lifestyles. The success of the Honda Brio Amaze is a major milestone resulting from a significant effort to expedite its market debut in time for customers who want to benefit from the Thai government’s first-car tax rebate program before the end of the year. With such solid sales growth, Honda is confident that we will successfully hit our sales targets for this year.”
