HSBC has announced the appointment of Guil Silva as Head of Global Markets and Treasurer Thailand, effective immediately. Guil succeeds Panya Chanyarungrojn, who retired from HSBC after being with the bank as Head of Global Markets and Treasurer Thailand since 2004.
Guil joined HSBC in 2001 and worked in London and Madrid as an Interest Rate Trader and in Institutional as well as Corporate Sales, before becoming Head of Global Markets for Iberia in 2009. His new appointment is part of Global Markets' strategy to expand HSBC’s franchise in faster-growing emerging markets and further strengthen the links between our European and Asian-Pacific businesses.
Guil graduated with a Master of Science degree in International Securities, Investment and Banking (ISIB) from ICMA Centre at University of Reading under a Chevening Scholarship in the United Kingdom. He is a CFA Charterholder, and has been guest lecturer at Universities and Business Schools in Spain, Portugal and Brazil.
