Liquid Purification Engineering International (LPE), Thailand has donated equipment worth 180,000 THB to the Environmental Engineering and Management (EEM) laboratory in the School of Environment, Resources and Development, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT).
The equipment was donated to the EEM laboratory by Mr. Prapan Ariyamethee, second from right, Managing Director, LPE. A team led by Mr. Pongprapan Ariyamethee, Business Development Manager, LPE came to AIT on 18 February 2013 to hand over the equipment. The equipment comprises of a set of a Reverse Osmosis (RO) drinking water unit with a capacity of 100 liters per hour. The equipment will be used to support the production of RO, De-Ionized (DI) and Milli-Q quality grade water for student research.
AIT’s Prof. C Visvanathan, sixth from left, while receiving the equipment expressed his gratitude, stating that the support demonstrates how academic research sector could work in close collaboration with industry. “The generous donation by LPE is an example of how faculty and students can benefit with increased involvement with industry,” he remarked in the presence of AIT students.
