Photo Release: TBEC Unveils Laos’ First Full-Scale Biogas Plant

Bangkok--3 Mar--Thai Biogas Energy Mr. Gustaf Godenhielm (left), Managing Director of Thailand’s leading biogas project developer Thai Biogas Energy Company (TBEC), was joined by Lao-Indochina Group PLC (LIG) Director Mr. Sengmaly Sengvatthana (right) from Lao PDR and Mr. Noulinh Sinbandhit (middle), Laos’ Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, in the opening ceremony of Laos’ first full-scale biogas plant. The facility, which converts wastewater from cassava flour production into power, was developed under the TBEC LIG Biogas Project with an investment of THB 130 million. Situated in Naxon Village, Pakngum, Vientiane, the plant can produce up to 7 million cubic meters of biogas per annum to replace THB 40 million worth of power from other sources while also cutting down carbon dioxide emission by 60,000 tons a year.
