Dr Andrew Steel, CEO of Treedom Group, the producer and distributor of premium grade Oud oil in Southeast Asia revealed its marketing strategy with the opening of its boutique outlet under the ‘Dar al Oud’ brand in the Nana area under the concept of the ‘Ultimate Oud Selection’, offering international standard quality of Oud oil products.
Dr Steel said that with over 8-year experience in Oud oil business and the growing trend of Oud oil market, the company set its retail direction with the opening of its first signature store to sell Oud oil products at number 2-05 on the second floor of Nana Square Plaza on the corner of Sukhumvit Soi 3. The company has increased its investment by 25 million Baht to conduct research and product development to produce Oud oil under the Dar al Oud brand. Its target customers are Arabic tourists who are traveling through Thailand. Last year, the statistics show that more than 600,000 Arabic tourists travelled through the Kingdom (Tourism and Sports Ministry’s data). The company has targeted its market share to increase from 7% last year to 12-15% this year with 10 million Baht in sales revenue from its first outlet.
The company also plans to open more outlets overseas by collaborating with retail operators in the Middle East including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Bahrain to widely distribute the products. It aims to have at least 50 retail outlets as the scent of Oud oil is very popular among Muslim people, particularly in the Middle East as it reflects their lifestyle and social status.
“Currently, the company is the pioneer in Thailand producing premium quality Oud oils with strict quality control throughout the value chain from seeding, planting and distillation, only a few companies in the world have the same capability and capacity as our group. We also directly sell and distribute our products. Last year, our sales revenue increased 68% to 223 million Baht from the previous year and we target to achieve a 117% growth with 484 million Baht in revenue this year,’’ said Dr Steel.
