Stiebel Eltron, the leading manufacturer of water heaters in Thailand, forecasts that water heater sales will grow in Thailand by around seven per cent in 2013.
The company, which was formed in 1924 in Germany, has its Asian headquarters and production site in Ayutthaya and is the market leader of water heaters in Thailand.
The design award-winning company, which also produces water filters and heat pumps, is predicting a solid year of growth this year for both domestic sales and exports. Total units sales including exports are expected to grow by more than eight per cent.
In 2012, the company reported in Thailand a four per cent growth in unit sales while total units sales including exports grew by more than eight per cent.
Roland Hoehn, Managing Director of Stiebel Eltron Asia explained that the company’s German Thai synergy in design and manufacturing help it keep its number one position in the market despite tough competition.
“We predict that the total water heater sales in Thailand this year will be about 550,000 units and we estimate that we have a 25 per cent market share which puts us in first place,” he said.
Maintaining market leadership is one aim for the company this year, said Hoehn, and to do this he announced new sales channels and new products.
“It is important for us to continue to be innovative and create products that have a strong design element, are value for money and resonate with our different customer segments,” he said.
With this in mind Stiebel Eltron plans to continue to focus on sales channels in Bangkok but will also look to create more sales platforms in upcountry areas such as Chiang Mai, the North-East and Rayong.
The marketing push will be backed by the launch of two new shower water heaters, a new multipoint water heater and a pitcher with its own built in five-stage filter.
Roland Hoehn, Managing Director and Yupa Tassri, General Manager of Stiebel Eltron Asia are seen presenting the brand new pitcher equipped with built in five-stage filter, which has recently been launched in Thailand alongside two new shower water heaters and a new multipoint water heater.
