Volvo’s premium cars with stunning designs parade into the Motor Show
Leading the automotive fashion trend, Volvo brings premium cars with dazzling design to the 34th Bangkok International Motor Show while opening for booking order for the first time for the All-New Volvo V40, the premium 5-door hatchback that emphasizes the aura of a compact car with large-car content and characteristics. The All-New Volvo V40 (B) is available at Baht 1.68 million and the S version is priced at Baht 1.79 million.
In addition to the All-New Volvo V40, Volvo also offers free iPad Mini 32 GB Wifi for other Volvo cars purchased plus undeniable promotion ranging from low interest rate starting from 0.6% to a choice of various gifts, such as Hong Kong package tour, Mac Book Air and diamond.
Chantana Vatanaromya, President of Volvo Car (Thailand) Co Ltd, said, “This year’s Bangkok International Motor Show’s theme of Street of Automotive Fashion suits well with Volvo’s “Design Around You” design philosophy. With this human-centric design philosophy, Volvo cars inspire people and best address their diverse needs for function, safety feature and outstanding design that makes Volvo a fashion leader in the automotive industry. With these remarkable products, Volvo successfully achieved total sales of 1,854 cars in 2012, a 55% growth.”
Among the premium vehicles showcased at Volvo’s booth, the All-New Volvo V40 premium hatchback is the highlight. The unique All-New Volvo V40 premium hatchback was designed to suit driver’s lifestyle and not for the driver to adjust himself to suit the car! All equipment are designed to be user friendly, which is a major part of the “Designed Around You” philosophy. The premium hatchback stands out from the crowd in three major areas — stylish design, enhanced driver’s experience and safety innovations. It offers unique experience and freedom for the driver, for example, to choose from the seven theatre-like lighting themes in the passenger cabin, or choose the information display format to suit their mood and driving style. The All-New Volvo V40 is the IntelliSafe car with a full package of state-of-the-art safety innovations, making it the safest in its class. The premium hatchback is also user friendly and passed the Euro V standard.
The All-New Volvo is powered by the five-cylinder 2.0-litre turbocharged T5 engine, producing a power output of 213 hp and 300 Nm of torque. It comes with a six-speed automatic gearbox offering responsive automatic transmission. It also supports various fuel choices, from benzene 95 to E10 and E20.
The All-New Volvo V40 premium hatchback features a luxury look by cleverly combining the class-leading driving dynamic of a compact car with a full deck of safety and support systems from larger models. Inside, the ergonomic and comfortable seat with side support, frameless interior rear-view mirror and the seven different mood light options that give the “theatre-lighting” feel are all the key contributors to the unique characteristics of the premium hatchback. Driver can then choose the lighting theme that best suits their mood. It is the first to offer greater freedom for driver to personalise instrument layout and the information provided by simply shifting the control at the back of the steering wheel. The fully graphic instrument cluster can be customised in 3 themes — Elegance, Performance and Eco.
The All-New Volvo V40 has received the record-breaking safety rating in all categories of the Euro NCAP collision test — adult occupant protection, child protection, safety assist and pedestrian protection. The premium hatchback came with state-of-the-art technologies. The City Safety, standard in all Volvo V40, has been enhanced to cover up to 50 km/h speed (from 30 km/h earlier). The technology automatically stops the car if the driver fails to hit the brake in time when the leading vehicle slows down or stops or when the Volvo V40 approaches the leading vehicle too fast. Lane Keeping Aid helps the driver stay in the lane. This feature applies extra steering torque to the steering column when the car gets close to a lane marking and is about to leave the lane. The system is active at speeds between 65 km/h and 200 km/h. Park Assist Pilot isdeveloped to make parallel parking easy and precise by taking over and operating the steering wheel while the driver handles the gearbox and controls the car's speed. The Enhanced Blind Spot Information System can now also monitor and alert the driver to rapidly approaching vehicles up to 70 m behind the car. The Cross Traffic Alert uses the radar sensors at the rear end of the car to alert the driver to crossing traffic from the sides when reversing out of a parking space. The function warns of traffic up to 30 metres from the car.
