Khun Somchai Boonnamsiri, Chief Executive Officer of Krung Thai Asset Management PCL., announced that the company will launch KTAM World Corporate Bond Fund (KT-WCROP) which is going to IPO between Mar 25th — Apr 2nd, 2013. KT-WCROP on average will invest at least 80% of its Net Asset Value (NAV) in the master fund, BlackRock (Luxembourg) S.A, a wholly-owned subsidiary of BlackRock with $ 3.792 billion asset under management (as of Dec 31, 2012). The master fund’s investment objective is to consistently add value over time as opposed to direction duration bets.
Khun Somchai added that KTAM World Corporate Bond Fund (KT-WCROP) is interesting because the master fund provides diversified access to the global investment grade corporate bond universe with tactical allocations to both high yield and emerging markets, the master fund will not take concentrated bets in illiquid markets, instead focus on diversified exposures across liquid corporate names.
The fund manager will consider using currency derivatives for the purpose of hedging against foreign currency risk to Thai Baht.
