High-end travel agents from east coast United States hear about the latest trends from Australia's luxury lodges and up-market travel products.
Luxperience and Luxury Lodges of Australia (LLoA) showcased the best of Australian and New Zealand luxury lodges to 50 high-end experiential travel buyers and media in Manhattan, March 21.The objective was to place the latest product news about luxury accommodation from the Australia Pacific region in front of an inquisitive and demanding audience in America's most discerning market place.
Helen Logas CEO of Luxperience and Libby Cooke of Luxury Lodges of Australia organized the briefing, with guidance and inspiration by Michael Holtz, founder of New York based SmartFlyer. Holtz is a passionate fan of Australia's new breed of world class lodges in iconic locations.
"We got our message across alright," said Logas. "We raised the profile of Australia as a luxury travel destination and showcased some of Australia's and New Zealand's luxury lodges, each of which has its own sense of place and a story to tell."
Retail agent Vicky McGlynn, owner of Travelong in Summit, New Jersey, said: "There was lots of new information. It was a great fun night -- if not a bit noisy."
Logas said the noise was down to the enthusiasm of agents who had many questions and comments. She said the event was a successful prototype for future Luxperience and LLoA events.
"Luxperience exhibitors will soon be able to buy an extension to their Luxperience exhibitor package to be present at these events," said Logas. "We envisage such briefings as we had in New York taking place in other markets such as London, Los Angeles, Buenos Aires, Shanghai and Bangkok. We're positioning Luxperience as a global event."
