Home owners, who want to save power in the current hot season, should switch their incandescent light bulbs for green-friendly Light Emitting Diode (LED) bulbs and lamps.
Compared to traditional incandescent light bulbs, LED bulbs use 85% less energy, contain no mercury or toxins, have a 20,000 hour lifetime (approximately 20 years), and can be recycled as electrical waste.
In-line with its commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility, IKEA stores, including IKEA Bangna, sell72 different types of LED lamps, and 12 kinds of LEDARE bulbs, with more indoor and outdoor options on the way.
“By 2016, IKEA will only sell LED light bulbs and lamps,” ChessadaChinmateepitak, Communication & Interior Design Manager, IKEA Thailand.
She added, “LED light bulbs offer many customer benefits. As well as being durable and very energy efficient, light from LEDs is dependable and adaptable, whether its lamps or bulbs lighting up a dining room, or a concentrated beam for reading and writing.”
The current IKEA LED range is broad with lamps, bulbs and fittings for many home settings including the stylish ?SUNDA LED table lamp and LJUSA LED hand-driven torchwhich is perfect for emergency time because no need of battery. Another eye-catching product is the ONSJO chandelier designed to imitate the lightand movement of fireflies.
And for younger members of the family, the cute, soft rubber ball-like SPOKA night light, and its colour-changing LEDs, is a popular item.
IKEA has also made it easy for consumers who want to replace traditional bulbs on older lamps, and light fittings, with LED light bulbs. The LEDARE range includes an LED light source to fit most standard bulb sockets whether chandelier, globe, or reflector, and in a variety of shapes, glass finish, and wattage.
