Goodyear Thailand has appointed a new managing director for the next phase of its growth. Effective April 30, 2013, Finbarr O’Connor will take up the position, replacing Suttipong Wannawanit who is leaving the company in order to pursue other interests.
O’Connor will have direct responsibility for all areas of the Goodyear Thailand business, ensuring leader in its targeted segments, the innovation leader and competitively advantaged.
Finbarr O’Connor, who has been with Goodyear since March 2011, comes to the position with a wealth of experience. He has extensive knowledge of the Asia Pacific and Thailand markets, with previous international postings including career assignments in Australia, Japan, Thailand and China for the Ford Motor Company and Mazda Motor Corporation. His most recent position has been as Consumer PBU & OE Sales Director for Goodyear’s ASEAN cluster.
Goodyear ASEAN Managing Director, Paul Cadena, welcomed the new appointment.
“Finbarr is a highly-regarded executive with a deep understanding of the automotive industry and our customers, backed by strong commercial acumen,” Mr. Cadena said.
“He is a proven business leader with a track record of developing strategic intent through insightful customer-centric diagnosis that supports the building of international brands.”
