Mr. Noppadon Duangthipnest, Head of Derivative Sales for Macquarie Thailand said: “The aim of the Macquarie DW Star 2013 contest is to increase investors’ understanding of DW and to improve their trading skills. It is also a great opportunity for new investors to gain experience in DW without risking any capital. Macquarie has held similar competitions in other markets and past winners in other markets have shown that you do not need to be a professional trader to be successful in trading DW.” For the past four years, this similar contest in Singapore, previous grand prize winners have included a young broker with little practice in trading DW, an IT consultant who participated in the Private Investor category and a retired housewife with no previous experience in DW trading. Other countries also have drawn a large number of participants such as Korea and Hong Kong. In Thailand, Macquarie has a leading market position, and we have built up our reputation since structured warrants was launched in October 2012. DW market is still in its early stages of development in Thailand and there is still room for growth. Currently the trading of DW in Thai market is about 650 million Baht per day.
