Honda Remains Number 1 Sales Leader in AprilContinuously Leading Since First Quarter of 2013with 4-Month Accumulated Sales of 92,404 Units
Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd. today released the number for its total passenger car sales in Thailand for the month of April 2013. Honda continues to hold the position of Number One sales leader both in terms of monthly sales, with a total of 20,202 Honda cars sold in April, and 4-month accumulated sales (January — April, 2013), with a record of 92,404 units sold. This sales achievement reinforces Honda’s market leadership position which has continued from the first quarter of this year.
Honda was also the Number One sales leader in the Thai passenger car segment with accumulated sales of 240,675 units during the Japanese fiscal year of 2012 (which runs from April 1, 2012 until March 31, 2013). Being the Number One best seller in April is starting off the 2013 fiscal year with Honda remaining in a position of strength.
Mr. Pitak Pruittisarikorn, Executive Vice President, Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd. said, “The continuous sales growth for Honda from January to April was achievable, partly, thanks to the ongoing delivery of Honda cars to customers who joined last year’s tax refund for first-time car buyers program. There were six models of Honda cars eligible for this program, which were the Honda Brio, Honda Brio Amaze, Honda City, Honda City CNG, Honda Jazz, and Honda Jazz Hybrid. In particular, the Honda Brio Amaze, which was launched late last year, has generated more than 25,000 bookings up to now.
The all-new Honda Accord, which was launched in March 2013, is well-trusted by customers, leading to more than 8,000 bookings within two months after its introduction. The new Accord is recognized for luxurious functionality with technical sophistication, and the highest level of safety standards as well as environmental friendliness.”
“With our determination to create automobiles that offer advanced technology with quality and an environmentally-friendly manufacturing process, coupled with activities that bring benefits to society to reflect Honda’s philosophy of growing with Thai society, we are confident that we will achieve our annual sales target over 200,000 units as planned,” concluded Mr. Pitak.
