Paying tribute to the distinctive flavours of a beautiful Mediterranean island, Brio’s talented Italian chef at Anantara Bangkok Riverside Resort & Spa presents an ? la carte Sardinian Discovery Menu. Available for lunch and dinner throughout the month of June, the menu provides a mouthwatering journey of specially crafted seasonal dishes.
Sardinia is the second largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, an autonomous region of Italy and a gourmet’s paradise. Recipes that have been handed down through the generations are characterised by healthy and appetising ingredients, richness and simplicity. Coastal cuisine is defined by a wide variety of seafood, and the interior of farmland, woods and mountains by succulent spit roasted meats. The island’s shepherding heritage makes it unsurprising that cheese is a gastronomic specialty. While the traditional Italian staple of pasta is accompanied by a variety of specialty breads, which play an important role in the island’s festivals, illustrating how culture and cuisine go hand in hand.
Brio’s talented Italian Chef Michele Laiso comments, “I worked in Sardinia during the summers for four years. As the island’s deliciously fresh food is perfect to enjoy during Thailand’s hot season, I’ve chosen to create a series of fantastic classic dishes using traditional ingredients and techniques.”
Highlights of the Sardinian Discovery Menu include a starter of “Poached Sardinian lobster with a salad of fresh tomatoes, red onion, potatoes and red wine vinegar, finished with shaved bottarga and fresh Italian herbs”. Diners can also enjoy traditional pasta recipes, such as "Ravioli with mint and potato filling cooked al dente in a classic tomato sauce and topped with pecorino cheese”. While Chef Michele enthuses that the “Baby suckling pig with roasted potatoes” is not to be missed.
Dine on Sardinia’s sublime rustic and coastal flavours, masterfully prepared by Brio’s talented Italian chef, with prices starting from THB 480++. Price is subject to 10% service charge and 7% government tax.
Brio is open daily for lunch from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm and for dinner from 6:00 pm to 10:30 pm.
