On Thursday June 6, 2013, BarSu and Wine Dee Dee invite you to chill-out in style as elegant bartendees uncork a selection of fine wines by Hugo Casanova from Chile. Each exceptional New World vintage will be complemented by delicious gourmet bites from BarSu’s open kitchen. Mr.Victor Aguilera from wine Dee Dee will honor us by introducing the fine wines.
At the end of the 19th century, the Casanova family from Italy settled in Chile’s renowned Maule region where they continued the noble tradition of producing wines of excellence. Today, the multi-award-winning boutique winery’s Purisima estate draws on Italian heritage to produce unique and unmistakable wines with great character and depth in every bottle.
Wine lovers will be served Hugo Casanova Reserva Sauvignon Blanc, an engaging well-balanced wine and the ideal match to a delicious compression of foie gras with Elba herb tortilla, brie and black truffle aioli. Guests will also enjoy Hugo Casanova Antano Chardonnay. The zesty fresh tasting wine will be paired with ceviche of diver scallops and Albacore tuna with jalapeno chili-lime infusion. The ruby red Hugo Casanova Reserva Merlot will be served with enticing veal agnolotti with pachino tomato marmellata and crispy Serrano ham. Two highlights of the evening will be Hugo Casanova Don Aldo Blend, an elegant wine abundant in dark berry flavors and paired with merquen spiced slow roasted lamb loin with whipped cannellini white beans and beet confit, and the12-month oak aged Hugo Casanova Family Reserva, Cabernet Sauvignon Syrah complemented by Brazil nut cake with roasted pineapple and rum sabayon.
