Brings Reliable Delivery Service to Important Southern Trading Gateway
With today’s official opening of the first FedEx Express station in Hat Yai, southern Thailand’s largest city, Hat Yai businesses and residents now have direct access to fast, reliable delivery service.
Customers in the city can now receive the same excellent service that FedEx Express (FedEx) provides throughout the country. FedEx offers "same business day collection" for any parcels collected or dropped off at the station before 12:00 p.m. for Asia destinations and 4:00 p.m. for U.S. and European destinations. Hat Yai shipments will transit through Bangkok, utilizing the 12 FedEx flights departing Suvarnabhumi Airport each week, to reach more than 220 countries and territories worldwide.
The new station is the second FedEx center of its kind to open in Thailand’s southern region, the first one being in Phuket, which opened its door to customers in 2008. As the latest addition to the FedEx network, the Hat Yai station was established to meet fast-growing demand for parcel delivery services in the south. Rapid economic development in the region is driving demand, and the trend will continue when the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) is launched in 2015. The new economic environment will further establish Hat Yai as an important center for international and regional trade.
“FedEx is very pleased to become a part of the Hat Yai community and to serve its residents,” said David Carden, managing director, FedEx Express, Thailand and Indochina “In this rapidly growing city, we want to provide small and medium businesses with fast and reliable parcel delivery service. Given our long track record, customers can rest assured their parcels will be delivered safely and on time.”
Located on Karnjanawanich Road, the FedEx Hat Yai Station is open from Monday through Friday (9:00 am - 6:00 pm) and Saturday (9:00 am - 5:00 pm).
To mark the official opening of the new station, local FedEx employees visited Ban Thung Tam Sao School to launch the newly-renovated library and to give out sports equipment to the school’s 101 kindergarten and primary school students. The library renovation is part of the FedEx “Adopt-a-School” program.
