Darren Edmonstone, Outrigger Executive Vice President and Managing Director, Asia-Pacific, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Simmons as Vice President Sales and Marketing, Asia-Pacific, effective June 5, 2013.
Mr. Simmons, an Australian national with 23 years' experience in hospitality in Asia-Pacific, most of it in sales and marketing, will be based at the Outrigger regional headquarters in Phuket, Thailand. He will report to Mr. Edmonstone.
Prior to joining Outrigger, Mr. Simmons was Vice President Sales and Marketing for SilverNeedle Hospitality, based in Singapore. He has held senior executive positions at the Preferred Hotel Group and at Delivering Asia, both in Hong Kong. Mr. Simmons has also been responsible for senior sales and marketing and operations positions in Asia-Pacific at the Landmark Bangkok, Accor Asia-Pacific, Century International Hotels, Jumeirah International, and Radisson Hotels.
Mr. Edmonstone said: "With his extensive hotel sales and marketing experience, Mark brings an impressive breadth and a depth of expertise and knowledge to Outrigger. We are delighted to welcome Mark to Outrigger as we continue ourstrategic expansion in Asia-Pacific and beyond."

Mr. Simmons has a Marketing degree from the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia. He also completed a Senior Hotel Management course with the School of Travel Industry Management at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
