dusitD2 chiang mai is celebrating its seventh anniversary with awards from the dynamic team.
1. certificate of excellence award by TripAdvisor
dusitD2 chiang mai announced that it has received a TripAdvisor? Certificate of Excellence award. The accolade, which honours hospitality excellence, is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews on TripAdvisor, and is extended to qualifying businesses worldwide. Only the top-performing 10 per cent of businesses listed on TripAdvisor receive this prestigious award.
To qualify for a Certificate of Excellence, businesses must maintain an overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five, as reviewed by travellers on TripAdvisor, and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months. Additional criteria include the volume of reviews received within the last 12 months.

2. Kitchen team awarded 1 sliver, 4 bronze medals and 3 diplomas in the Thailand Ultimate Chef Challenge (TUCC) 2013
A kitchen team from dusitD2 and Royal Princess Chiang Mai led by chef Chalong Sakkapalangkul , Director of Kitchen and president of the Northern Chef Association achieved silver and bronze medals as well as the diplomas in The Thailand Ultimate Chef Challenge 2013. The event was held at the Impact Exhibition Centre in Bangkok.
The ‘Modern Thai cuisine’ competition
- a silver medal for chef Pontakorn Aranyapoom, dusitD2 chiang mai
- a diploma for chef Attawat Krittapol, Royal Princess Chiang Mai
The ‘Mekong culinary challenge’ competition (team of 3)’
- a bronze medal for chef Pontakorn Aranyapoom and chef Boonlert Choksangsap, dusitD2 chiang mai and chef Attawat Krittapol, Royal Princess Chiang Mai
The ‘Main course — Poultry’ competition (chicken or duck combination)
- a bronze medal for chef Danai Gongmongcol from Royal Princess Chiang Mai
The ‘Pasta free-style’ competition
- diplomas for chef Boonlert Choksangsap, dusitD2 chiang mai and chef Danai Gongmongcol from Royal Princess Chiang Mai
In this event, chef Chalong Sakkapalangkul was also awarded the “Honourable committee judge” from the world association of chefs societies (WACS).
3. dusitD2 chiang mai achieves the’ highest guest satisfaction score’
dusitD2 chiang mai achieved the certificate in recognition of the highest guest satisfaction score among Dusit International hotels and resorts around the world on the occasion of the annual GMs Conference, held at Dusit Thani Bangkok under the theme “Play to Win,” a light-hearted take on the company’s approach to what they have termed their “Year of Expansion.”
