The SEC is seeking public comment on a draft revision tothe rules governing preparation of financial statements, financial reports, and operating results of securities issuers. The proposed revision intends to simplify the rules and strike a balance between the investors’ need for adequate information disclosure with respect to their investment decision and the regulatory burdens of the securities issuers. Furthermore, the SEC will also propose business operation guidelines regarding corporate social responsibility and protection for corruption to promote sustainable development of the securities issuers. In this connection, the annual registration statement (Form 56-1) and annual reports (form 56-2) will be revised with the aim of clarifying the information disclosure and being more beneficial to interested persons.
