Juvenile Delinquents Rehabilitation through Sport and Play Program
Right To Play Thailand Foundation has officially formed a strategic partnership with the Department of Juvenile Observation and Protection, Ministry of Justice to expand the Sport and Play Program aiming to promote life skills development as well as the intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development for young offenders through team building and leadership skill building activities.
The signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding took place recently at the Department of Juvenile Observation and Protection, Ministry of Justice with Right To Play International’s representatives including Evelyn Guindon, Vice President International Program, Nina Valentic, Senior Director International Program, Jacob Murray, Country Manager of Right To Play Thailand Foundation graciously joined by Mr. Thanis Sriyaphan , Director General, Department of Juvenile Observation and Protection, Ministry of Justice.
The collaboration aims not only to support Life Skills Development through Sport and Play Program but also introduces the Financial Fitness and Livelihoods Learning Program in partnership with MasterCard Worldwide to be implemented for the vulnerable young people at Sirindhorn Juvenile Vocational Training Center to build their skills and competencies to navigate the world of work and create opportunities for themselves.
Currently, Right To Play Thailand Foundation has worked with four youth rehabilitation centers targeting approximately 500 youth while providing workshops, onsite coaching and supervision to the youth center staff and volunteers to develop skills to improve their relationship with youth and their approach to rehabilitation services which allows juvenile delinquents to make sound decisions and lead more positive lifestyles once they are released.
