540 Iron Men join Sahaviriya Bangkok Triathlon 2013 Simon Agoston - Kate Rutherford won Royal Trophies

Bangkok--8 Jul--Sahaviriya Steel Industries “Sahaviriya Bangkok Triathlon 2013,” raising funds for leprosy patients and children whose parents are afflicted with HIV, was crowded with 540 participants. Mr. Simon Agoston and Ms. Kate Rutherford won the Royal Trophies. Raj Pracha Samasai Foundation-SSI aim at promoting triathlon and Thailand tourism to the world. On July 7, 2013, at Saun Luang Rama8, Admiral His Serene Highness Prince Pusarn Swasdiwat, presided over “Sahaviriya Bangkok Triathlon 2013,” to win the Royal Trophies and Friendship Cup from the Embassy of the United States. The raised funds from this event will be used to support leprosy patients and children whose parents are afflicted with HIV. The event was cooperation between Raj Pracha Samasai Foundation, the Royal Thai Police and Sahaviriya Steel Industries Plc. (SSI) together with Thailand National Defence College, government agencies and private sectors. There were 540 participants from many countries, including Austria, England and Sweden. The triathlon was divided into 3 groups: Standard Triathlon (1.85-km swimming, 55-km biking, and 10-km running) Short Range Triathlon (850-m swimming, 27-km biking, and 5-km running) and Duathlon (5-km running, 27-km biking, and 5-km running). Moreover, British Ambassador Mark Kent and his daughter also joined the Duathlon as an honour guess. The period of the triathlon was between 6.00-10.30 AM. In addition, the event was broadcasted by Channel 11. Therefore, audiences can watch the impressive moments of the triathlon closely. As for the result of Individual Men and Women, Mr. Simon Agoston and Ms. Kate Rutherford, with the score of 2 hours 24 minutes and 15 seconds and 2 hours 35 minutes and 38 seconds respectively, won the Royal Trophies. The winner of Friendship cup was Mr. Saranon Chantaraj with the score of 1 hour 23 minutes and 9 seconds. SAHAVIRIYA CUP was given to AJ Team with the score of 2 hours 28 minutes 27 seconds. As for Sahaviriya team, Mr. Wirot Suksamai, Mr. Rangsan Puttavong and Mr. Prapoth Juprachakorn were the winner of Short Range Triathlon. Mrs. Suleemas Sutthisamphat, Chairman of the 5th Sahaviriya Bangkok Triathlon Organizing Committee, said that “It is an honor for Raj Pracha Samasai Foundation to have many supporters, including Sahaviriya Steel Industries Plc.
