Bangkok--9 Aug--MasterMind Communications Greeting the Asean economic integration and riding the ongoing trend toward deployment of labour replacement machines in Thailand’s construction industry which are boosting growth in the local heavy machinery market, United Motor Works (Siam) has launched an aggressive campaign in the heavy machinery sector, introducing the Japanese ‘Takeuchi TB 150 C’ excavators during its ‘New Mission, Big Challenge UMWS 65th Year Anniversary’ Event, working to build by this yearend an extensive marketing network comprising of 12 dealers in every region (which will become one in every province in the near future). The Company boasts its new excavators’ superb efficiency and great after-marketing services and, in partnership with its financial partner, offers an affordable down payment plan with an eye to achieve sales of 80 units in the first three years. Mr Theantham Theanthong-in, Senior Deputy Manager for After-marketing Service, United Motor Works (Siam) Public Company Limited, or UMWS, revealed his company’s status as the exclusive dealer in Thailand with the exclusive rights to import and market machines for heavy industries bearing the ‘Takeuchi’ brand from Japan. UMWS, he said, will also embark on building a marketing network that consists of 12 dealers in every region by this yearend, which will increase to one in every province in the near future, to tap the growing demand for heavy machines in Thailand’s construction industry. The Company expects an overall higher demand for heavy machines, especially in the sector of excavators of 7MT or smaller sizes, which represents about 25-30% of 8,000, the forecasted number of new excavators for this year, as shall be driven by the local labour-cost pressure and the decisions of the businesses and construction contractors to rely more on heavy machines as a way to reduce construction cost and time for each project. “Due to the need for the government to invest in and build economic infrastructures in the wake of the formation of the Asean Economic Community (AEC) in 2015 and the ongoing private investment in construction projects, we expect to see a jump in the local demand for 7MT or smaller excavators. We believe that the Takeuchi machines will be warmly welcomed by customers,” noted he. He added that, during his company’s ‘New Mission, Big Challenge UMWS 65th Year Anniversary’ event, 5MT Takeuchi (TB150C) excavator has been introduced as a new option for Thailand’s construction industry, with a 38HP ‘Yanmar’ hydraulic engine and a manipulator with an ability to make 360o movement. The small 5MT machine, like its bigger peers, offers smooth ride and the driver’s seat that absorbs impacts. In addition, to guarantee customer satisfaction the company provides after-marketing services through its fully informed and highly skilled local dealers. To sweet the deals with industrial businesses and construction contractors, the machine supplier has also made a pact with its financial partner to offer a low down-payment, low interest-rate arrangement and a product warranty for one year or 2,000 hours of operation. It expects to sell 80 7MT, or smaller, Takeuchi TB150C units during the first three years. “With our experience, expertise and understanding of the need for heavy machines among our customers, we are confident that we will achieve that goal. And in the future we will make use of our South East Asian network to introduce the Takeuchi machines to the other Asean markets as well,” he told.
