KASIKRONBANK and JSL Global Media are introducing a new reality TV show, “SME Mee Tung Yer”, with 3 million Baht in prizes. The contestants representing nine new business startups are winners who have been trained from the “SME Mee Tung Yer” camp. The first show “Who will win in the first league?” will air on October 6, 10.40 p.m. on Channel 5.
According to Mr. Patchara Samalapa, Executive Vice President of KASIKORNBANK, the “SME Mee Tung Yer” program is designed in accordance with KBank’s SME service policy under the concept of “K SME Full Support for SMEs”. Competition under the program is undertaken with advice and knowledge offered for constructive and practical business planning to compete for SME achievement. Although intended as an entertainment TV show, it also provides valuable insight and knowledge for customers through an innovative business camp which, it is hoped, will provide inspiration to those who wish to start up their own businesses as well as existing SME operators. This is the first reality TV program, from which knowledge can be practically applied in real business operations.
The show comes from the “SME Mee Tung Yer” camp, where the general public had been invited to submit video clips for application to become participants. As many as 1,200 video clips were submitted and only 30 finalists from 30 businesses were selected for the business camp. They had been trained by 11 well known business gurus and 30 experienced business practitioners from K SME Network. Of the finalists attending the “SME Mee Tung Yer” camp, nine were chosen to compete for prizes on the TV show.

Separated into three leagues, the “SME Mee Tung Yer” program will require competitors to carry out real business operations. Each league comprises three contestants; the winner of each league will be awarded 1 million Baht. The combined prizes are 3 million Baht. All nine competitors will open a real store with equal capital, which they need to control costs in order to boost maximum sales and net profits. Viewers will help judge contestants by purchasing or using products and services at the point of sale of each store.
Business experts and mentors participating in the TV show include Mr. Patchara, a financial guru from K SME, Mr. Thunyawat Chaitrakulchai, Thailand’s most renowned marketing guru, the experienced TV host “NuMam — Mrs. Surivipa Kultangwattana” and a new, inspiring TV host “Per - Suwikrom Amaranan”. Additionally, there will be experts in particular business fields to participate in each league including Mr. Yingsak Jonglertjesdawong, a food expert, Mr. Polpat Asavaprapha, Thailand’s first personal stylist and fashion expert from ASAVA, and Mr. Thana Thienachariya, a brand builder who has a reputation for thinking differently and creating a range of possibilities for operators.
Apart from KBank, a co-producer of “SME Mee Tung Yer”, this show is also sponsored by the Thai Credit Guarantee Corporation and Muang Thai Life Assurance.
