- Opportunities for Bosch in infrastructure development
Bosch, the leading global supplier of technology and services, today announced the appointment of Joseph Hong as the new managing director of Robert Bosch Limited in Thailand, replacing Peter Vandlik.
“Despite the challenging global economic climate, Bosch maintains an optimistic outlook for Thailand as a key growth market in Southeast Asia,” said Mr. Hong.
He elaborated, “Thailand is still the region’s largest automotive production hub. In addition, the Thai government is planning to increase the country’s global competitiveness by bolstering infrastructure and connectivity. Bosch is therefore bullish about growing alongside Thailand’s automotive industry and supporting its national development through one-stop solutions via our diverse portfolio of products and services.”
On his new role, Mr. Hong said, “Bosch has maintained an excellent track record in Thailand. We attribute our strong year-on-year growth to the strong partnerships that we have forged with our customers, as well as having the best talent on board. Not only do I want to build upon where we have been doing well, I also intend to expand our manufacturing capabilities and extend our reach geographically across Thailand and across industries. I am confident that Thailand will continue to be one of the top contributors for Bosch in Southeast Asia.”
Filipino by nationality, Mr. Hong began his career with Bosch in 1998 as National Sales Manager for the Automotive Aftermarket business in the Philippines. Since then, he has amassed a wealth of international management and leadership experience in several functions that included regional responsibilities. Besides the Philippines, he has worked in Germany and Singapore prior to returning home in 2010 to assume the role of managing director of Bosch in the Philippines.
