Fahmai Damrongchaitham, Chief Operating Officer for Platforms, GMM Z Trading Co., Ltd., revealed, ?The performance of GMM Z satellite boxes and Z Pay TV in the past three quarters of 2013 enjoys the steady growth. After the launch of GMM Z HD and two new packages, Gold package with 199-baht monthly fee and Platinum package with 499-baht monthly fee, in August, the sales volume reached more than two million boxes within less than two years. GMM Z also partners with the international entertainment titan like ?Fox International? to bring the premium content to the subscribers of Z Pay TV throughout the year. The Company also purchased the broadcast license of popular sports like football, tennis, golf, and motor sport. In addition, Grammy subsidiaries produce the programs for more than 10 channels.
GMM Z can better serve the need of all target segments and quickly access them via a complete range of distribution channels, such as Big C, HomePro, The Power, Makro, Power Buy, Power Mall, Tesco Lotus, Amorn, Global House Imagine, IT City, Photo Hut and O Shopping Channel, as well as the distributors countrywide.
In 2014, GMM Z formulates the marketing strategy under the concept of ?GMM Z: Box of Happiness? which aims on international content purchasing and own-produced content development to fulfill the most complete so as to strengthen its three components:
Platform: GMM Z is the strongest operator in broadcasting the programs via main platforms, satellite TV of KU Band and C Band, to reach the people countrywide. Furthermore, it plans to expand the channels, such as AIS mobile application and the system ready for digital TV, without changing the box.
Content: GMM Z is strongly determined to select the quality programs, both local and international, such as movies, series and entertainment from Fox Premium and Fox Family, documentary from National Geographic, children?s programs and news. The Company purchased more than 14 licenses to broadcast more than 800 matches of world?s leading football leagues. Sport fans will also enjoy other types of games, including Grand Slam, Euro 2016, qualifying Euro 2016 and World Cup 2018. In addition, its programs include the hottest series, such as Almost Human season 1, Marvel?s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and GLEE season 5, and variety shows like American Idol season 3 and Asia?s Next Top Model season 2. In addition, the outstanding local content, such as ?Hormones? series, is well received by the audiences. The Company plans to broadcast the first episode of ATM2 series by GTH on November 30, 2013. Also on air will be ?The Soul Mate Next Door (The Final Answer)? and Hormones Season 2 that will come with the ?Hormones the Next Gen? project to search for the new generation of actors. Satellite channel (Transponder): GMM Z is the largest renter of Thaicom 6 satellite that transmits the signal countrywide. It is also convenient for the audiences to watch via both C band and KU band. For the better quality of broadcasting, high definition (HD) and standard definition (SD) are available.
?Currently, the market of pay TV in Thailand tends to grow steadily.
