Bangkok--20 Dec--Nox Bangkok UD Trucks delivers the world’s first Quester to Asia Group UD Trucks under operation of Volvo Group (Thailand) Co., Ltd delivers the world’s first Quester to Asia Group 1999 Company Limited, one of Thailand’s biggest concrete pile manufacturers. Mr. Jacques Michel, President Volvo Group (Thailand) Co.Ltd, said the delivery was considered as the success of Thailand being the assembly base for UD Trucks which was Japanese automobile heritage. Volvo Group has invested 2 billion baht in its assembly facility located on Bangna Trat Highway KM 25 with capacity of 20,000 units per annum. Asia Group is the country’s leading pilling service firm and orders 15 UD Questers at the Global launch event back in August with a comprehensive 3-years maintenance and repair contract to serve its expansion plan. The company placed its first order of 15 vehicles pushing its UD Truck fleet to increase to more than 65 units showing Asia Group’s confident on UD Truck Brand. Volvo Group (Thailand) is subsidiary of Volvo Group of Sweden, the global leading truck manufacturer. In 2007 Volvo Group acquired Nissan Diesel in Japan, later changed its name to UD Truck. Volvo Group started its marketing for UD Truck in Thailand in late last year. Since its assembly plant started its assembling completely by the middle of this year, Volvo Group started its marketing activity in late last year and the first Quester was manufactured from the Thai Swedish Assembly Company Limited is handed over to Asia Group (1999) Company Limited. Meanwhile, Mr. Boonyong Kamollertvara, Chairman of Asia Group, added that the company has been using UD Trucks for 20 years and now Asia Group had more than 60 UD Trucks in its fleet. “When Quester was introduced, I was positive that it would be exactly the strong heavy-duty truck that our company needs for carrying concrete piles to construction sites all over Thailand. Additionally, we also need a trusted partner to maintain those trucks because we want to be able to focus on what’s our core business and therefore we also decided for signing a comprehensive service agreement with UD Trucks.”, said Mr. Boonyong. Mr. Michel added that Asia Group was considered as one of many customers who is waiting for the new model of UD Trucks, Quester, which was assembled in Thailand, for Thailand and Asia, because of the 40-year history of UD Trucks in Thailand with its dependability, fuel efficiency and easy to maintenance. “Asia Group is one of our most important customers. They are very loyal and true fans of the UD Trucks brand. We want to go the extra mile for them, and I am absolutely confident that the Quester will meet their high expectations.”, Jacques Michel said. The total 15 UD Trucks will be delivered to Asia Group within this year and Quester is now being delivered to other customers. Quester will be exported to Indonesia, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam and the Philippines.
