Fitness First spends a budget of more than 450 million baht to refurbish 25 branches nationwide in line with “rebranding” plan. It will also change a new logo under the concept of “Together, We Can Go Further” to create a new identity in response to target group in a wider scope. It will emphasize on the brand, “the World’s No. 1 Fitness Club”, by an investment in the facelift including new logo using red as the main color and adding freestyle training zone, artificial turf zone, new fitness innovations and etc. Fitness business in Asia has the highest growth in the world. In ASEAN countries, Thailand posts the highest growth in fitness business with the total value of more than 3.5Billion Baht and expects to expand another 1 Billion Baht within2015. Mr. Mark Buchanan, Managing Director, Fitness First (Thailand) Co., Ltd., says Fitness First is refurbishing 25 branches nationwide in line with “rebranding” plan under the concept of “Together, We Can Go Further” to create a new identity in response to target group in a wider scope. It will emphasize on its brand, “the World’s No. 1 Fitness Club” with the facelift including new logo using vibrant red with “F” for “Fitness” and “First” in one letter to represent the symbol of energy and powerful strength which will be easy to recognize. It will also improve trainers who must have fitness certification and use digital equipment with applications and programs which can help members record their exercise result and try a new test, scientific equipment to measure physical age and exercising style to fit with members. All branches will have a facelift to create a relaxing environment with open space. It will have new fitness innovations with a focus on freestyle exercise and design short-period exercise class, yet with high energy consumption to increase exercising efficiency in a shorter time. It will also add exercise classes which are Fitness First’s identity like Hard Core Strength, Pro Cycling, Freestyle Group Training, Muay Fight Pro by Buakaw and etc. For all of these, the company will spend more than 420 Million Baht.
Currently, the penetration rate for fitness activities in Thailand is only 0.6%, a lower rate when compared with the rate in other countries like Hong Kong (4.7%), Taiwan (1.8%) and Malaysia (1.1).However, Thai people have been more interested in health care and exercise during the past few years, boosting fitness industry’s growth to the highest when compared with other countries in ASEAN. Thailand’s fitness business growth is the highest with the total value of 3.5 Billion Baht and will expand another 1 Billion Baht in 2015. Fitness First is Thailand’s No. 1 in market share. In 2014, the revenue grew by 11% (as of October 2014) from 2013 and expects to have a 20% increase in 2015, Mr. Buchanan concludes.
