- The group invests one billion in its new headquarters and Bangna dealership as part of its investment
- The investment will help support logistic business to serve AEC Scheme commence next year
Volvo Group (Thailand) Company Limited has completed its five-billion-baht investment in Thailand to support customers in logistic business to be competitive in the region, according to Mr. Joachim Rosenberg, Executive Vice President Volvo Group Trucks Sales & Marketing APAC.
He added, Volvo investment is our commitment to Thailand where is the growing market. Thailand and ASEAN countries are very important markets for Volvo Group especially when AEC opens next year.
Volvo Group has been established for 80 years and provides complete transport solutions for professional and demanding customers. It is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of trucks, buses and construction equipment, and drive systems for marine and industrial applications. The Group also provides solutions for financing and service. Customer support is secured via a global network of 2,300 dealer points and workshops in more than 190 countries worldwide. Volvo’s work is based on the core values quality, safety and environmental care.
Mr. Rosenberg added that today Volvo Group completed the five-billion-baht investment in Thailand, two billion baht of which was for increasing assembly capacity at the existing Thai-Swedish Assembly Company. Another three billion baht was for the expansion of the dealership network from 6 to 15 nationwide. Mr. Rosenberg noted the company’s one stop service for Volvo Trucks, Volvo Buses and UD Trucks which provides the highest standard of quality.
“Today, our grand opening ceremony of new Headquarters and Bangna dealership is to confirm our completion of investment here. A part of our investment is our new headquarters cost around one billion Thai baht,” said Mr. Jacques Michel, President of Volvo Group Thailand.
He said the new Headquarters is considered as a flagship dealer as it is currently the largest facility in the extensive network of 15 dealerships. It is also a regional office of 6 countries in South East Asia which includes Thailand, Myanmar, Lao, Cambodia, Vietnam and the Philippines.
The new Headquarters and Bangna dealer is located on 32.5 rai land on Bangna Trat Highway KM. 21. The new facility also provides Preventive maintenance, General Repairs and Body Repairs and other additional service such as brake testing and emission checks to strengthen its commitment in core values.
“The new Headquarters and Bangna dealer, off course, is a one stop service. The building is designed to be environmental care in accordance with our core value of quality, safety and environmental care,” said Mr. Michel.
“We have invested 18 million Thai baht in a state of the art spray painting facility which uses only water based paints in order to protect the environment.” added Mr. Michel.
Meanwhile, the new Headquarters and Bangna dealer is also including the regional training center for Asia. It provides comprehensive training for more than 200 courses which are the global standards from Volvo Group University. It covers practical and theoretical training which includes e-learning and self-study though multi-media channels. The center expects to have 5,000 numbers of people training each year.
